If you're looking to pop out of the election-results-blues with some ideas for how to move forward politically, join this long-running FREE walking tour exploring San Francisco social movement history. In fact, the walk supplies attendees with a wholly fresh (and robust) perspective on social justice that defies MAGA. Taking the Declaration of Independence's mighty line that all people have a right to life to mean all people have an equal right to use of this Earth, the walk introduces folk to San Francisco's 19th century-born proposal to socialize the value of "location, location, location" as key to disrupting hierarchy, the wealth divide, and anti-democratic tendencies.
Along the way you'll get the story of people and San Francisco sites where colonial US and Mexican interests came ashore, where 60's revolutionaries and anarchists challenged US war-hawks, where the Black Panthers stiffed white supremacy, and where loads more free-thinkers sought to emancipate liberation.
By walk's end you'll have in hand a rubric for challenging the patriotism of MAGA world with the Declaration of Independence itself! Sleep in or get mega-WOKE, the choice is yours!
