Stephen Zunes: Expanded War in the Middle East What to Expect From the New Administration

Dr. Stephen Zunes, Professor of Politics and Director of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of San Francisco, returns to UUSF to examine U.S. support for Israel’s expanded warfare in the Middle East and how the new administration is likely to both continue and alter the Biden administration’s policies. He will examine the impact of U.S. policy in undermining international legal precedence through support for Israeli expansionism and war crimes; and how peace and human rights activists can help steer U.S. policy in a better direction.

This discussion is part of our efforts to gain an understanding of the history and the ongoing international diplomatic efforts to resolve conflicts in that part of the world, which Professor Zunes has visited and researched for many years.
