Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant vows an Israeli strike against Iran will be "lethal, precise and surprising” in the wake of Iran sending hundreds of missiles into Israel to target military facilities. Iran’s missile barrage was in retaliation for the "violation of Iran’s sovereignty and the martyrdom” of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed by an explosion in Tehran–and in response to the Israeli air strike in the southern suburbs of Beirut that killed hundreds of people.

Even as Israel commits genocide in Gaza and bombs Lebanon and Syria, President Biden reaffirms his “ironclad” support during a 30-minute phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. Biden insists he will not support an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities and oil installations–but Biden has reversed himself before so it’s anyone’s guess whether he will stick to his red line and what iron-clad support looks like when it comes to Israel.

Join CODEPINK Congress for a discussion of Iran: What’s next?
