Los Angeles, CA – October 1, 2024 – ‘Ciure’ winner of the 22nd Rome Independent Film Festival Best Feature Award and the 24th Valley Film Festival’s 10 Degrees Hotter Award for Foreign Feature, is growing legs internationally with help from Indie Film insiders.

On October 15, 2024 Actor Kash Hovey, host of ‘On Air with Kash’ and producer of Film Fest LA will head an social media campaign to promote The Valley Film Festival’s Encore Screening of ‘Ciure’ for Los Angeles Valley College’s Rainbow Pride Center to his 22K Instagram followers. Kash’s support comes as a VFF Alumni, whose first feature ‘Jack and Cocaine’ had its world premiere at a campus screening produced by The Valley Film Festival at Columbia College Hollywood in 2017. Kash recently produced and starred in short crime drama ‘The Hit’ which premiered this past week at the Burbank International Film Festival and is staring in feature film ‘A Unified Theory of Love’ scheduled to release in 2025.

Dimitri de Clercq will be joining Kash Hovey, as will Vera Mijojlic. Dimitri de Clercq is the Director of ‘You Go To My Head,’ winner of the VFF17 10 Degrees Hotter Award for Foreign Film (France, Germany, Belgium), that was picked up for distribution by First Run Features and profiled in The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and The New York Times. Vera Mijojlic is the Founder of the South East European Film Festival, whose submissions for SEEfest 2025 are now open.

The Encore Screening on October 22, 2024 has also received tremendous support from San Fernando Valley locals. Taking place at Los Angeles Valley College, the on Campus Sponsor is Natalie Guerrero and LAVC Rainbow Pride Center, who scheduled the screening as part of LAVC’s 75th Anniversary Events. Community support for the screening has come from multiple Neighborhood Councils, including Greater Valley Glen, Valley Village, NoHo, North Hollywood West, Encino, and Van Nuys. The Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council will host Tracey Adlai for an Outreach Committee meeting on October 8th. Additional support has come from the West Valley Warner Center Chamber of Commerce, CSUN Sun Dial, Valley News Group (Warner Center News, Valley Vantage, Las Virgenes and Calabasas Enterprise), Van Nuys News Press, Tolucan Times, Sherman Oaks-Studio City-Encino News, My Valley Pass, QueerGuru.com, San Fernando Valley News Portal, San Francisco Bay Area Independent Media Center, KTLA Community Calendar, Los Angeles Daily News Events Calendar, and Discover Los Angeles , among others.

Special invitation was extended to all sitting members of the Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees, and all board candidates listed with the Los Angeles County Register (Seat 1: Baltazar Fedalizo, Andra Hoffman, Peter V. The screening will be held at 6pm, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Monarch Hall at Los Angeles Valley College. Doors open at 5:30pm. The screening is free and open to the public who may RSVP at The Valley Film Festival’s website. Permission to screen was obtained by Tracey Adlai, founder of The Valley Film Festival, who produced the film's Los Angeles Premiere on August 2, 2024. David Krouse, based in Denver, is producing the screening. Previously David Krouse worked with The Valley Film Festival, The DTLA Film Festival, Laemmle Theaters, Cinelounge, The American Cinematheque, TCL Grauman’s Chinese Theater, AMC Theaters and The Denver Film Festival.
