Virtual Childfree Convention 2024
This year's theme: The online Childfree community and its impact
Join the live chat audience Q&A! Live streaming on Sunday, August 4th, 2024 beginning at
7 AM PT/10 AM ET (recording will be available for viewing afterward).
Hosted on Childfree Convention YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/c/childfreeconvention
This year’s virtual Childfree Convention is centred around one theme: Is Childfree Content Sustainable?
We reached out to select speakers who have spent significant time and resources creating next-level content to join us for an in-depth look at the current state of the online Childfree community and its impact. Is it making an impact?
📣Panel 1: The Childfree Life Cycle
Discovery – Am I alone?
Expression – Can I say this out loud?
Acceptance - What’s after Childfree?
🗣️Speakers: Dann Alexander, Christine Erickson, LeNora Faye, Isabel Firecracker, Dr. Angela L. Harris, Cody Hetzel, Therese Shechter, Kristen Tsetsi
📣Panel 2: Aggressively Childfree
During last year’s panel, “(What does it mean to be) Aggressively Childfree?”, we realized we had miscalculated how aggressive the Aggressively Childfree community is. Hilarity somewhat ensued during that livestream and we’ll talk about it during this special panel.
Thankfully, Helene, who is well-versed on this topic agreed to return and set the record straight!
🗣️Speaker: Helene Gustavsson
📣Panel 3: Hey, Childfree Community: Do something!
Is “Childfree” at risk of becoming a four-letter word and weaponized by pronatalists who want to push their agenda? Call to action!
🗣️Speakers: Dann Alexander, Christine Erickson, LeNora Faye, Isabel Firecracker, Dr. Angela L. Harris, Cody Hetzel, Therese Shechter, Kristen Tsetsi

What is childfree?
Childfree is actively and freely choosing not have children. Reasons are as varied and nuanced as the individuals who make this choice, including personal, social, philosophical, moral, economic, climate/environmental and more (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voluntary_childlessness).

THE GUARDIAN: "Sorry, JD Vance, but being a ‘childless cat lady’ is actually not a bad thing" by Arwa Mahdawi (July 20, 2024)
". . . women who are childfree by choice are often happier and healthier than men and married women with children. This isn’t my opinion; there’s data that backs this up. Back in 2019, Paul Dolan, a professor of behavioural science at the London School of Economics, made headlines when, during a speech at Hay festival, he cited evidence that women are happier without kids or a spouse"
