The catastrophic hurricane Beryl has created death and destruction in Houston and this is only the first hurricane of the year. After a week over 500,000 Houston residents are still without power and are facing a humanitarian crisis. Host Steve Zeltzer spoke to Daniel J. Cohen with Indivisible Houston.

Puerto Rico is in the thick of a massive electrical crisis with constant blackouts crippling the island, but it’s not a natural disaster. It’s Wall Street vultures and US colonial control. Breakthrough News has this report from San Juan and New York City.

The leaders of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger convened in the Nigerien capital Niamey for the inaugural summit of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES). The three countries have taken action to defend their natural resources and have started to expel not only the French diplomats and military, but also their corporations. This was Burkinabe President Captain Ibrahim Traore’s speech at the inaugural summit of the Alliance of Sahel States heads of state held in Niamey, Niger on July 6th 2024.
