Join us on July 20 for a film + Q&A at 6:30PM PDT in San Jose! 🎥

Inspired by true events, Farha is the story of a girl whose dreams of an education in the city change to that of survival in 1948 Palestine.

We will then host a live Q&A with Zeiad Abbas Shamrouch, Executive Director at Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA). He is a Palestinian refugee from Dheisheh Refugee Camp in the occupied West Bank.

We invite you to join an evening of film and conversation on Saturday, July 20 from 6:30 - 8:30pm PDT.

ABOUT THE FILM

The film FARHA, is based on the true story of a Palestinian girl who survived the Nakba of 1948, when hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were expelled from their homeland by Zionist militias. The film’s main character, Farha, is locked for her own safety in a pantry when Zionist forces attack her village, witnesses some of the violence of ethnic cleansing that created the Israeli state. ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

We will then host live Q&A with Zeiad Abbas Shamrouch, Executive Director at Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA). He is a Palestinian refugee from Dheisheh Refugee Camp in the occupied West Bank. Zeiad is also a filmmaker, journalist and educator, and was the co-producer of Promises, which was nominated for an Academy Award.

A donation of $5-15 per person is suggested to support MECA's efforts to provide urgent aid to children & families in Gaza.

This event is open to the public. Doors open at 6:00pm / Film starts promptly at 6:30pm PDT.
