ABOUT: Stop the Coup 2025
https://www.stopthecoup2025.org/about
Stop the Coup 2025 is a group of multi-sector activists and organizations stepping up to protect our democracy, imperfect as it is, to counter Project 2025. We can stop this, but only if we educate ourselves and our community about the danger, and develop strategies to FIGHT BACK.
Struggle and conflict are essential for confronting and overcoming injustice. We honor and
emulate the successes of international and home-grown movements for democracy by adhering
to nonviolence in our strategies and tactics.
In working toward a functioning democracy, we reject as fundamentally anti-democratic all
forms of state-sanctioned violence, bigotry, and systemic discrimination, especially
discrimination directed at people because of their perceived disability, immigration status, race,
religion, financial/employment status, gender identity/expression, sex, and sexuality.
Our allies include Center for Media and Democracy's PR Watch, Center for Popular Democracy Action, Center for Progressive Reform, Chromatic Black, Council for Global Equality, Court Accountability, Doñas Academy, Freedom From Religion Foundation, Gays Against Guns, LatinX+, Make the Road NY, National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE), Political Research Associates, Reclaim Pride Coalition, Rise and Resist, Sero Project, True North Research, #Unify Movements, and Vocal-NY. Our launch co-sponsors included Human Rights Campaign and People for the American Way.
