Fashion is self-expression. It's art. It's also responsible for roughly 10 percent of planet-warming emissions. But it doesn't have to be. Join KQED climate reporter Laura Klivans and Remake, a global advocacy organization fighting for human rights and climate justice within the clothing industry, to learn how fashion can be sustainable. We'll talk mending basics and how to thrift like a champ, and we'll bring out professional stylists to teach us how to work with our favorite pieces so they shine anew. One lucky audience member will get a session with a stylist! Featuring Hayley Colette (a.k.a. Pretzelegant) from WorkshopSF, a DIY school for adults, offering affordable classes on crafting, painting, leather working, urban gardening, sewing & more.
In Person: $15 / Livestream: Free.
