A working class black South London family, Travis is just out of prison, and his wife Candice aspires to make it big on stage. Their daughter Kenisha is a troubled adolescent. Mother and daughter face discovering Travis’ concealed desire to wear the sparkly, red dress he bought for his wife for her audition. About masculinity, family, sexual fluidity and shame, the ending offers a defiant assertion of freedom.
