Murder, Corruption, Fraud and Felons at LAVC Exposed in 2020
In 2020, a Twitter account @Laccdw published a thread exposing just how bad things were at Los Angeles Valley College. It was shut-down two weeks before the LACCD Board of Trustees Election.
In 2020, a Twitter account handle @LaccdW, pushed attention to multiple incidents of fraud, corruption, murder and felons running rampant at Los Angeles Valley College. The feed (which is now active again as of this writing) was viewed and blocked by Scott Svonkin, Andra Hoffman, Sara Goldrick-Rab, and David Vela.
To their credit, the feed has not been blocked by Trustees Nichelle Henderson, Sara Hernandez, Gabriel Buelna, or Mike Fong.
The Twitter Feed broke the story on multiple items that have since been reported, including irregularities with the Valley Academic and Cultural Center that has now been exposed by the Los Angeles Times as a massive racketeering scheme.
The feed also aggressively pushed an anti-incumbent campaign, working to flip the LACCD Board of Trustees in 2020. About two weeks before the election, with it's last Tweet posted 10/27/2020. While the feed is now active again, it put a spotlight on problems not only at Los Angeles Valley College, but also Los Angeles SouthWest College – where the LACCD recently lost a massive $10-million-dollar lawsuit.
Two stories in particular that were published in the mainstream press –
'Corruption and fraud beset long-delayed L.A. Valley college theater project, lawsuit alleges' | August 4, 2022 | Los Angeles Times
Ex-Professor wins $10 million verdict against LA Community College District for wrongful termination | October 23, 2022 | 2UrbanGirls
We also now know that the Los Angeles Daily News had many of these stories and chose to kill them.
