Come along on a free walking tour exploring the intersection of real estate and dignity. Our working definition of dignity is: "Humans have the capacity for satisfying body and soul under their own power in mutually elective coordination with others." We'll survey 11 social movements with deep connection to SF in order to give that definition form and substance.
So what's with two cows, you must be wondering? There's a humorous (and superficial) guide to political systems employing two dairy cows and their caretaker as a rubric. For instance, Under socialism a farmer has two cows; their milk is collected by society and redistributed as apparatchiks determine (oppressive gov't). And another: Under capitalism a farmer has two cows; the farmer sells one, buys a bull, and starts a herd (get up and go free market motivation). On the walking tour we'll ask the existential question, "On whose land are the cows and farmer?" (behavior doesn't exist apart from locational tenure systems).
