Iran-Saudi Peace a Diplomatic Coup by China
The just-announced Peace deal(or revived diplomatic relations) between Iran and Saudi Arabia is a game changer in the Middle East. Since WW II, the USA had touted itself as the most influential Peace broker in the region, but had only turned the region into a powder keg. Now, the world is seeing how a responsible outside power--in this case China--can gain the trust and respect of two of the bitterest enemies in the MidEast.
This diplomatic thaw is significant in its geopolitical implications around the Globe. Because, for the past decade in particular, Washington had been drumming up a new Cold War narrative, pointing to China as the up-and-coming Baddie that will replace the traditional Bully--i.e., Uncle Sam--to dominate the region. Obviously, the Big Lie has just been shredded to pieces by this diplomatic coup of the decade. So now the world will see that China may be the next benevolent Great Power that would not play the Imperialist game. Let's see what spin Washington will come up with, to discredit the honest broker deal that will culminate in 2 weeks with the exchange of ambassadors from both Saudi Arabia and Iran.
