Three basic points on the lies we hear and what is at stake:

First, you should not take at face value ANYTHING that you are being told by your government, or its press about war crimes in Ukraine.

Second, even if the Russians are doing EVERYTHING that the media claims they are doing, and worse, and this is very possible, it does not come anywhere close to what America has either done or supported in places like Iraq, Vietnam, Guatemala, El Salvador, Afghanistan, and right down to Yemen today.

And third, this whole campaign around Russian war crimes is making the danger of nuclear war much worse than it has been for a long time. A war that could conceivably wipe out humanity. (from the Revolution Nothing Less show, “Lenny Wolff on the war on Ukraine – media lies, imperialist hypocrisy”)

From the beginning of this war, Bob Avakian has argued for a sharp break and rupture from the intense media diet of lies, which all too many people have swallowed whole:
