"How Marxists Think"
This short piece is the focus of the first two sessions of a five-week series of readings and discussions based on Revolution, She Wrote, a collection of works by groundbreaking socialist feminist Clara Fraser.
In "How Marxists Think," Fraser presents an overview of the method revolutionaries use to analyze and change the world, dialectical materialism. She uses accessible language and wit to describe the revolution in thinking that Marx and Engels brought about by combining dialectics, the philosophy of change, with materialism, the belief that consciousness is determined by the physical, material world.
By understanding the universe as matter in motion, we can analyze world events and organize a movement to bring about revolutionary change to end corporate greed and meet human needs. Whether it's stopping inter-imperialist wars like the conflict in Ukraine, or guaranteeing the right to abortion and full reproductive freedom, dialectical materialism provides the key to liberation.
Tuesdays, March 15 and 22
7:00 pm, via Zoom

Future sessions of the series will address:
·The Stalinist bureaucracy's betrayal of the Russian Revolution in "Suppressed Facts Behind the Khrushchev Revelations," March 29
·The key role of women's leadership in bringing about soclalist democracy, "Women: Motor Force of Soviet Survival," April 5
·Fraser's contributions to revolutionary feminism, ""Clara Fraser: A Passion for Politics," April 12
