Today is the National Day of Racial Healing.

This country was built on slavery and racial capitalism. In order to even begin to heal as a nation and as a people, we need a full picture of how people of color have been treated throughout our history—beyond what’s written in US history textbooks.

We need the truth.

Tonight, on Facebook join Rep. Barbara Lee speaking with the experts at the forefront of the movement for a US Commission on Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation and commission to develop reparation proposals for African Americans.

They’ll be talking about the history and progress of movements for racial justice in America, the current racial reckoning catalyzed by COVID-19 and police brutality, and the path forward in Congress for H.Con.Res. 19 and H.R. 40, proposed legislation to create the TRHT commission and to study reparations.

We an opportunity to help to build a more equitable and racially just society. We cannot miss this moment to enact real, transformational change.
