JBLM DES Protection Division Still Illegally Spying On You
The Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) DES Protection Division collecting and disseminating information about First Amendment Protected Activities in violation of DOD regulations and Federal law.
Department of Defense (DOD) regulations specifically prohibit DOD agencies from collecting and disseminating information about First Amendment Protected Activities - such as vigils and marches. DOD agencies "May not investigate U.S. persons or collect or maintain information about them solely for the purpose of monitoring activities protected by the First Amendment or the lawful exercise of other rights secured by the Constitution or laws of the United States."
So, why is the Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) DES Protection Division collecting and disseminating information about a "Vigil for Democracy" and a "March for Freedom"? Are we expected to believe that these peaceful activities are terrorism or extremism? What business is it of the military at JBLM if these events are occurring in the civilian community?
Many at JBLM recognize that the activities of the Protection Division / Anti-Terrorism Office violate the civil rights and liberties of the people in the surrounding civilian communities, these violations have been reported multiple times, but the DES leadership fails to take any action to stop this illegal activity.
The JBLM DES Protection Division is violating DOD regulations and Federal laws, and they have been doing so for years. JBLM senior leadership is concealing this misconduct and getting rid of any JBLM Service Member or Civilian Employee who openly objects to the illegal activities of the DES Protection Division. We are being spied on, threatened, cyber-stalked, and harassed. The JBLM DES Protection Division poses a direct and serious threat to our communities.
