JBLM Keeping Files on Anyone Who Protests Government Misconduct
Department of Defense (DOD) Regulations clearly state that DOD Agencies will "not maintain information on how an individual exercises rights protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, including the freedoms of speech, assembly, press, and religion..." Yet JBLM is keeping detailed records on you!
According to an excerpt from a sworn statement by Dan Vessels, the Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) is "keeping an eye on" a person by the name of Drew Hendricks because he (Mr. Hendricks) organizes protests and submits FOIA requests for information about the military base. This is a violation of DOD Regulations and violates Mr. Hendricks First Amendment Rights.
Dan Vessels is the "Chief of the JBLM DES Protection Division", the same organization that has a long history of violating the civil rights of individuals throughout Washington, Oregon, and California. The JBLM DES uses it 'police power' intimidate individuals into silence and chill dissent. Protestors are labeled as "homegrown violent extremists" and entered into intelligence databases, such as INTELINK.
