The next International Rights of Nature Tribunal will be held parallel to the COP26 (Glasgow) this November 3rd at 16h00 GMT and November 4th at 16h00 GMT 2021.
Due to COVID and traveling restrictions, this Tribunal will be a hybrid event – online through Zoom and in person at Strathclyde University.
The Tribunal will hear two cases: the “Amazon, a threatened living entity” case and the “False solutions to the climate change crisis” case. The two cases will be presented by frontline, impacted communities and experts from around the world, and will be heard by a panel of globally recognized Rights of Nature judges.
The aim of this Tribunal is to bring maximum visibility to the current key struggles to protect the world’s ecosystems and confront the false solutions that are being presented in the face of these crises, and to offer legal rulings and precedence that may aid communities and activists in their struggles to protect and restore these ecosystems.
Our objective is to mobilize citizens through the creation of a platform of associations calling for the recognition of the Rights of Nature, the Rights of the Amazon, and exposing false solutions to Climate Change.

The International Rights of Nature Tribunal was created by the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature in January 2014. The Tribunal aims to create a forum for people from all around the world to speak on behalf of nature, to protest the destruction of the Earth—destruction that is often sanctioned by governments and corporations—and to make recommendations about Earth’s protection and restoration. The Tribunal also has a strong focus on enabling Indigenous Peoples to share their unique concerns and solutions about land, water and culture with the global community.
