A small group of residents gathered Monday morning (April 19) and confronted Steve, the man who seemed to be in charge of the spraying. After some dialogue, he assured Carrie that they would not be spraying that day and not spraying period, but later in the day declined to sign a statement committing FPI Management to that position.

Later that day Carrie reported that the outgoing manager, a woman who initially declined to speak with her, later agreed that the Round-Up would not be sprayed on the property, but less toxic weed-kiillers used instead. Carrie noted that similar protest several decades ago had stopped an earlier scheduled Round-Up spraying.

Though a positive verbal assurance, the Residents Against Round-Up had yet to get any written promises from on-site managers or the company owning the property.

An earlier interview with Carrie can be found ahttps://www1.huffsantacruz.org/lost/1%20FRSC%204-18-21.mp3 (6 minutes into the audio file)

An 4-19 interview with Carrie and several other residents (including the verbal promise that Round-Up wouldn't be sprayed followed by the refusal to provide that in writing) can be heard at https://www1.huffsantacruz.org/lost/FRSC%204-22-21.mp3 (41 minutes into the audio file).
