Animal agriculture profiteers hide their barbaric
treatment of animals behind obfuscating words
treatment of animals behind obfuscating words
PETA has published a short not even 2 minute video, very powerful, on the ways
animal agriculture hides its cruelty through obfuscating language.
1 'Disbudding'.. the painful process by which horn producing tissue is burned off of
a calf's head
2 'Blast freezing': Fish are subjected to 'blast freezing'
meaning they are frozen to death.
3 'Exsanguination'.. killing animals by letting them bleed to death.
4 'Ventilation shutdown' is a method of mass killing in which barn airways are closed off and steam pumped in. Temperatures rise sharply. The animals suffocate or die of heat (baking to death).. (This metho has been used on pigs in Iowa and
elsewhere).
5 The painful mutilation of tails, teeth and testicles of piglets is called 'piglet processing'.
Slaughterhouses are processing plants..
or as 1 Ohio Dept of Health person said
'disassembly plants'.
6 Husbandry: the forced breeding and exploitation of billions of animals
