Our elections are under threat. People must be able to vote safely in November. Yet, Senate Republicans are blocking key funding needed to #ProtectOurVote.
Join us on August 11 4:30 - 5:30 PM PT (7:30-8:30pm ET) for a virtual town hall with Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, Congressman John Sarbanes and movement leaders to discuss why funding for safe elections must be included in the next COVID package, and what citizens can do to make themselves heard.
Despite COVID cases rising, the Senate Republicans proposed $0 (ZERO!) for critical funding needed to #ProtectOurVote. No one should have to choose between their health and their vote.
Speakers:
--Wendy Fields, Executive Director of Democracy Initiative
--Karen Hobert Flynn, President of Common Cause
--Leigh Chapman, Voting Rights Program Director of The Leadership Conference on
Civil & Human Rights
--U.S. Representative Joyce Beatty OH-3 (D)
--U.S. Representative John Sarbanes MD-3 (D)
and more

ABOUT: Declaration for American Democracy Coalition
Our coalition includes groups from the labor, racial justice, faith, women’s rights, environmental, good government, and many other important communities. Formed in 2018, we set out on a mission to take back our democracy and restore power to the people.
We believe that we must build a democracy where everyone participates, every vote is counted,
and everyone’s voice is heard.
To learn more about how democracy reform is critical to achieving progress on the issues voters care about most, read our report "Fixing Our Broken Democracy" here:
