Los Gatos BLM Demonstrators Shut Down Hwy 17/Face-off with Maga Hatters
On July 20, approximately 200 Black Lives Matter protesters gathered near the tony town's farmers market, marched through the small downtown area, then shut down Highway 17 for over an hour. But first, they encountered a small group of racist Trump supporters, seemingly emboldened by the presence of cops nearby.

On July 20, Black Lives Matter protesters assembled near the farmers market in the South Bay town of Los Gatos. Huddled on the edge of their gathering, about a dozen counter protesters with American flags tried to argue with racial justice demonstrators who were within earshot, while police stood close by taking in the situation.
Leaving the small group of flag wavers behind, BLM marchers listened to speakers, then marched down South Santa Cruz Avenue until they reached a Hwy 17 entrance, the major route to the city of Santa Cruz. Making their way onto the highway, protestors took the thoroughfare, shutting down traffic for an hour.
One of the demonstrators explained to a corporate media source that while most of the protesters do not live in the city of Los Gatos, they work in the retail and restaurant businesses that cater to well-off residents. They brought their protest to one of the wealthiest towns in the US to move the BLM movement to the forefront of people's minds, making it more than just background noise on their televisions. Demonstrators were joined by local high school students who organized a similar protest earlier this month.

Now we know for sure who the supporters of Nazi Trump are as we see them in the above picture in Los Gatos: Wealthy white property owners. They are the foundation of the Republican Party everywhere, including in California. The lie that somehow the white workingclass, those of us workers of all colors who sell our labor for less than $80,000 a year, are the main Trump voters, is clearly a lie, and always has been. Santa Clara County, including Los Gatos, has 159,000 registered Republicans, 16% of the registered voters. Los Gatos has 30,000 residents with an average income of $200,000 a year. In one analysis, Nazi Trump got 28% of the Latino vote, 27% of the Asian American vote, 8% of the Black vote and 57% (not all) of the white vote. Supposing the lie that every single Trump voter was a non-Hispanic white, that would be 40% of the white voters, which of course is a minority of whites. So, clearly we should all be talking about the class struggle because this is first and foremost a class society. We are waiting to see a labor march against racism and police state terrorism as the police are by definition not social workers but armed thugs of the capitalist class whose SOLE PURPOSE is to terrorize the workingclass to accept terrible wages, hours and working conditions.
