This year, COVID-19 may be limiting our ability to gather in person, but not our desire to #WearOrange and fight for a future free from gun violence.
Quarantine frustrations are just one of the ways the COVID-19 pandemic and the gun violence epidemic are feeding on each other. You may have read about the security guard in
Flint, Michigan who was shot and killed for refusing entry to a shopper not wearing a protective mask. Or the anti-government demonstrations by gun-wielding activists in Nevada, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Virginia. Or the two fast food restaurant workers in Oklahoma who were shot and wounded because the restaurant's seating area was closed.
The recent murder of Ahmaud Arbery in Brunswick, Georgia shows how 'Stand Your Ground' shootings have a tragic and disproportionate impact on communities of color. Overall, more than 100 people are shot and killed, and the hundreds more are wounded, by guns every day in America, even during this pandemic.
Join us for a Virtual Day of Action! We will have an interactive day of action taking place online, including impactful speakers and actions for you to take, and you can share your
home-based #WearOrange activities.

Why #WearOrange?
Orange is the color that Hadiya Pendleton’s friends wore in her honor when she was shot
and killed in Chicago at the age of 15 — just one week after performing at President Obama’s
2nd inaugural parade in 2013. After her death, they asked us to stand up, speak out,
and Wear Orange—the color hunters use for protection—to raise awareness about gun violence.

ABOUT: Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America & Everytown for Gun Safety
Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. We pass stronger gun laws and work to close the loopholes that jeopardize the safety of our families.
Moms Demand Action was founded after the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy and is part of the larger Everytown for Gunsafety movement.
