National Climate Strike in Santa Cruz
The September 20th Climate Strike was the largest day of action for climate justice ever. On December 6th, as world leaders gather at the UN’s annual climate conference, young people across America will join a national #ClimateStrike to take the momentum from September to our elected officials’ doorsteps.
In September, many politicians shared nice words of encouragement. But, we didn’t walk out of school and work to earn their praise. We joined the #ClimateStrike because our lives depend on elected leaders treating this crisis like the emergency it is.
On December 6th, we’ll show up at the offices of our political leaders and ask them, are you ready to stand with our generation and fight for a Green New Deal?
The youth in Santa Cruz have organized a Rally at the county building and marches form both sides of town. Everyone is Welcome to join.

The industrial revolution motivated by fossil fuels such as coal, gas, oil and nuclear fission atomic power is destroying the ecological balances of the organic and inorganic webs-of-life planet wide. Climate Change is a polite way of saying the pollution from fossil fuels is destroying the planets livability and all fossil fuels have no long term future as they are non-renewable and cannot be replaced when used up burning-out the oxygen at a rate more fast than mother nature can replace it.
Scientists already have estimated that forty percent has been burnt out to carbon-dioxide which is a replacement that we cannot live with. Wind, tidal, and solar power transformed to electricity is more power than all the burn-out fossil fuels combined. Renewable energy resides with wind, tidal, and solar power and allows for oxygen to return to a livable valance of oxygen again making a livable planet with oxygen supporting the webs-of-life so much so it is really the matter-in-motion to save the planet's health and livability again. You all have a world to win yet! Voila!

Automobiles are the leading cause of CO2 emissions in our nation and the number one source of water and air pollution. Through crashes and pollution, cars are responsible for more than 2 million deaths around the world EVERY YEAR.
The power for change is in OUR hands, and at this crucial hour honoring this Indigenous-led boycott is essential to returning to a safe and sane way of life, based on respect for Mother Earth.
