Melting icecaps. Rising seas. Coral reefs dying. Rain forests decimated. One million species projected to become extinct, many within decades. Many are sleepwalking through this nightmare. But new stirrings of resistance are emerging, including from the youth. A global climate strike has been called for the end of September 2019. The mission statement for Earth Strike says “We, the people of the world are striking to save the planet.”
The global system of capitalism-imperialism has ravaged the earth and its people and threatens the future of the planet. This must STOP! We need a real revolution – resistance like Earth Strike contributes to that and should be supported.
This event will be a presentation by an organizer for Earth Strike, followed by a discussion.
