Reading Between The Headlines: Stop The War on Immigrants!

ICE detention centers are overflowing with immigrants incarcerated in subhuman conditions. Children are being separated from their parents and tortured. The Trump administration is threatening mass ICE raids. Led by Nancy Pelosi, the Democrats put up no resistance to the Pentagon and DHS funding bill pushed by Republican legislators. Protests are growing and a movement is building to defend immigrants in the face of these deplorable attacks. A new movement is on the rise. The dominant ideas of an epoch are the ideas of its ruling class. Every day the media spins a story, a story shaped by the profit motive and capitalist politics. Sit down with activists, students and workers and read between the headlines to apply working class and socialist analysis about the events happening right here and right now that are affecting our lives. Collectively, we will investigate and discuss the biggest media topics of the day from a working-class perspective.
