Date:
Friday, July 12, 2019
Time:
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Event Type:
Vigil/Ritual
Organizer/Author:
Carina Merrick
Location Details:
In front of the main Redwood City Public Library

Speakers include a member of the LatinX activist community on the psychological impact family separation is having on children in the camps and a direct eyewitness to the situation in the camps. Inspirational music calling for an end to detention by Grupo Danza Colibrí and the Raging Grannies. This will be a very photo/video worthy action.

Join civic and faith leaders, community organizers and activists, young people and our honored seniors, elected officials and voters, immigrants and native born, as we stand together against the incarceration of children seeking refuge and asylum in the United States.

This event is one of more than 600 vigils taking place worldwide on July 12: https://www.lightsforliberty.org/localevents

A candle lighting vigil will take place at 9pm. Bring your own candles (we will have some on hand).
