Another Whitewashed Trial of War Crimes by USA Invader

by DLi
The latest acquittal (except for an "unauthorized posing of a photo of a prisoner" charge) of a Navy SEAL is another case of Imperialist impunity of war crimes in America's global "War on Terror." Special Op. Chief Edward Gallagher was cleared of all other far more serious charges, including one for killing an injured teenage ISIS fighter in Iraq in 2017. He was released without having to serve any more time, since his sentence of 4 months for the "photo posing" charge has been offset by his pretrial detention. Apparently, this is a prime example of "victor's justice" in America's long history of overseas Imperial aggression.
Mainstream corporate-bin-Laden media coverage of this travesty of justice will not reveal that this "showcase trial" is just the latest string of surreal legal puppetry that exonerates practically all of the grotesque war crimes committed by US invaders--ranging from the Abu Ghraib tortures of Iraqi prisoners to heinous treatment of "illegal combatants" in Guantanamo's notorious wired cages. Instead, the corporate media mouthpieces will simply perfunctorily recite the sanitized verdicts of America's "justice system."
For a much better coverage of the real story, readers are advised to go to the World Socialist website--wsws.org--to at least inform themselves of some of the basic facts of this latest atrocious episode of Washington's "War on/of Terror" since Sept. 11, 2001..
