Program Launched in Advance of National Gun Violence Prevention Day, June 7th, 2019 #WearOrange
Program Launched in Advance of National Gun Violence Prevention Day, June 7th, 2019 #WearOrange
Louder than a Shot, a San Francisco-based volunteer cohort, launched its project today dedicated to the prevention of gun violence against young people.
The project aims to protect children from gun violence by encouraging youth to share their voices and stories, which will be used to promote awareness and raise funds for this cause.
The project goal is to raise $20,000 by June 14th, and donate the funds to Mom’s Demand Action, a non-partisan grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence.
Youths, families, teachers and members of the public are encouraged to create their own content on social media - videos, photos, artwork - that speaks to their feelings about, or experience with, gun violence, and post with the hashtags #WearOrange and #LouderThanAShot.
Participants may also submit artwork, stories and essays directly to Louder than a Shot via the e-mail address in the “About” section on the group’s YouTube channel.
Submitted artwork, stories and essays will be curated into a presentation and delivered to Mom's Demand Action at the close of the campaign.
