Sunday Morning at the Marxist Library
My favorite Marx
All participants are encouraged to bring their favorite brief quote from Marx (or another radical thinker). They will read it and be prepared to say a few words about why it is their favorite, perhaps a 5 minute presentation. Some examples may be:
“...in the United States of North America, every independent movement of the workers was paralysed so long as slavery disfigured a part of the Republic. Labour cannot emancipate itself in the white skin when in the black it is branded.” (Capital, chapter 10, “The Working Day," p. 414)
“The direct, natural. and necessary relation butterflyof person to person is the relation of man to woman…. From this relationship one can judge man’s whole level of development.” (Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844, “Private Property and Communism”, p. 295-96 in Vol 3 of Marx Engels Collected Works)
Facilitator: ICSS Member Urszula Wislanka.
