As wildfires and hurricanes grow more intense, a meaningful response to climate change also becomes more urgent. But, real action is often stymied by political polarization and the overwhelming, often intangible magnitude of the problem. It's time to change the conversation; it's time to talk about why living a healthier and happier life also helps the environment. Join Robyn Purchia, guest columnist for the San Francisco Examiner, as she discusses why reducing waste is good for you and the climate.

Robyn Purchia has spent almost two decades advocating for a healthy environment as a journalist, land-use and energy attorney, and most recently, as an activist with the environmental nonprofit Mothers Out Front. Her weekly column, "Green Space" has appeared in the San Francisco Examiner since 2015.
