From JAPAN- A Japanese fishing cooperative plans to resume commercial whaling on July 1. Japan is soon to receive its first shipment of oil from Iran after getting an embargo dispensation from Trump. The Japanese trade minister says the country will continue to export nuclear power plants despite suspending a project that had been planned in Britain. In the wake of the 2011 Fukushima disaster, reporting on the radiation impact on children was incomplete. The Israeli military has carried out massive airstrikes aimed at Iranian targets in Syria, killing a number of Syrians in the process. Oxfam released a report on the growing number of billionaires and the growing number of impoverished global citizens.
From CUBA- On Monday of this week, there was an attack on the Venezuelan military in Caracas. On Tuesday, US VP Pence posted a video message online telling opposition leaders in Venezuela that they have full support in overthrowing elected President Maduro. On Wednesday, one term leader of the national assembly, Juan Guaido, declared himself to be the interim president- moments later Trump officially recognized him- Cuba, Mexico, and others nations were outraged. The Cuban President called it a coup intended to serve US interests- Russia and China made similar statements. A Director at the Cuban Foreign Ministry stated the US wants to impose a colonial government servile to US interests.
From GERMANY- Here is Germany reporting on the attempted coup in Venezuela- it was the number one story in many countries around the world.
From RUSSIA- A brief report on where Jeremy Corbyn stands as the potential next prime minister of Britain, given the chaos over Brexit and the media bias against him.
