1.10.19 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Ms. Incredible debuts her new EP, The Wounded Healer, which features Oakland artist StarzWithBarz and production by AkaEstrella, Svnty6, Fly Benzo, Uncle Flex Beats, Tarikh Mizan, Eibyondatrack and Luqqman Haqq.
Known for throwing hands, Ms. Incredible was given the name by peers in high school. By the time she was 18, the Los Angeles native needed another way to express herself and music came naturally. She was able to let out her pain and frustration by recording music.
In The Wounded Healer, a blend of melodies with emotion ranging from sass to sorrow, Ms. Incredible unveils her superpower of weaving together words in fast, witty phrases yet displaying diction and delivery in each word reminiscent of the classic Bay Area hip-hop sound.
The 7-track EP is biographical journey that took two years in the making but served as healing tool and creative outlet.
“It allowed me to speak thoughts I held inside and share ideas I would have probably not had the courage to share otherwise,” said Ms. Incredible.
In 2016, the process towards healing began when she asked the difficult question, What does a Wounded Healer look like?
“I came up with the title during a time in my life when I was ready to heal all the wounds I've carried up until that point. I wanted to process and deal with it in a creative way,” said Ms. Incredible.
The EP is a opportunity for others to begin their healing process. In the song “Tears Just Fall” Ms. Incredible raps about taking the road less traveled and allowing herself to fully feel a wide range of emotions.
Now on her present journey, Ms. Incredible is ready for new experiences and to represent what real healing looks like.
Ms. Incredible will perform at Blockchain & Grill on Friday, Jan.18th at the Fillmore Heritage Center from 5-9PM on 1330 Fillmore Street in San Francisco.
