Whether they're here or you're there, being home for the holidays can generate some hot water, hot collars, and hot heads, but if you come along on this walking tour, you'll be able to stay cool and keep political conversation so narrow the mood will remain intellectual rather than phosphorous.

On this walk, which serves as a cursory survey of social movements in San Francisco, you'll be equipped to keep inquiry and remarks fixed on the question, "Should one human being or another be able to make out nicely from mere ownership of a piece of the earth?"

No talk of health care. No schism over building the wall; or not. No unpleasant comparisons of Obama and Trump on the matter of presidential demeanor.

Instead, this. Should the earth be held as the income-generating province of some of the population, and the rest of the citizenry be obliged to pay the aforementioned for the mere opportunity to occupy the United States of America?

We'll turn this question on the theological lathe, the natural rights lathe, the libertarian (John Locke-ian) lathe, the Marxist lathe, and yea, verily, the liberal Democrat lathe.

School may be out for the season of red & green, Frosty the Snowman, and New Years, but you can still be sent to the Principle's [sic] Office. This walk will fortify you with the one principle that breeds no fiery Party-thumping fulminations.
