SFVS workers are trying to negotiate their first contract with Mars, maker of M&M candy that controls much of America’s pet care industry. There’s big money in pet care, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of workers or quality care.

SFVS workers are committed to quality care for animals and the people who love them.

Let’s tell Mars that “union avoidance” consultants and “surface-bargaining” aren’t welcome here.

LWU Local 6 San Francisco VCA workers and their supporters on July 13, 2018 rallied and spoke out for a union contract and against the union busting efforts of VCA management.
Although workers voted for union representation by ILWU Local 6, the management continues to refuse to provide information that would help negotiation for a union contract. Union members, other ILWU members and supporters of the union speak about the issues and also the need of proper care for the animals at the animal care center.
