Join the in-person efforts to stop the California Public Utilities Commission from sheltering PG&E from their criminal liability and negligence at their upcoming meeting in SF! And sign and share the NO PG&E Bailout petition that will be sent Governor Brown, Governor-Elect Newsom, California Public Utilities Commission, and state and local representatives: https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/no-pge-bailout
We refuse to pay for their ongoing destruction of our environment and lives. We demand, clean, safe, public utilities NOW! This is an open rally for everyone concerned about all those impacted by the fires and smoke.
PG&E has failed to keep the residents of Northern California safe — from the San Bruno gas explosion to last year’s North Bay fire to the ongoing Camp Fire — all because they prioritize shareholders' profits over public safety. They have failed to maintain their equipment, resulting in hundreds of lives lost and homes destroyed.
The California Public Utilities Commission has a scheduled public meeting on November the 29th. They have signaled that they want to extend Senate Bill 901, which enables PG&E to pass on liability costs to rate payers, to cover the Camp Fire. Let's show up in large numbers to let them know enough is enough! Now is the time to prioritize our lives and public health over capital gains. This is a state of emergency. The climate crisis is here, and we are no longer willing to choke on the smoke of dirty business as usual!
