Feds arrest four men over violence at Charlottesville “Unite The Right” rally

Members or associates of white supremacist group “Rise Above Movement” arrested

By Lynda Carson - October 2, 2018

Earlier today, four members or associates of the Rise Above Movement (RAM), a militant white-supremacist organization based in Southern California, were arrested by federal agents in California. Those arrested include Benjamin Drake Daley, 25, of Redondo Beach, Calif., Thomas Walter Gillen, 34, of Redondo Beach, Calif., Michael Paul Miselis, 29, of Lawndale, Calif., and Cole Evan White, 24, of Clayton, Calif.

According to the Department of Justice, all four defendants have been charged with one count of conspiracy to violate the federal riots statute and one count of violating the federal riots statute. According to documents, the four white supremacists went to Charlottesville for the August 2017 Unite the Right Rally with the intent to encourage, promote, incite, participate in, and commit violent acts in furtherance of a riot.

This was the same violent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, during August of 2017 that David Duke attended, resulting in blood in the streets of Charlottesville, and the death of Heather Heyer when she was run down by an alleged Nazi sympathizer while she was protesting against the KKK, neo-Nazis, and white supremacists. Reportedly, 19 others were injured when the Nazi sympathizer plowed into a crowd of peaceful demonstrators.

On June 27, 2017, hate crime charges were filed against James Alex Fields Jr., and he was indicted on 30 counts, for driving his car through a crowd protesting against neo-Nazis and white supremacists at a Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, resulting in the death Heather Hyer, a 32-year-old-paralegal.

Additionally, a criminal complaint and affidavit released today reveals that these same arrested RAM members have engaged in acts of violence at political rallies in Huntington Beach, CA, and Berkeley, CA.
