Berkeley: March and Rally Rages During Christine Ford/Kavanaugh Testimony

Judge Brett Kavanaugh is so reactionary, and now with the testimony of Dr. Ford, so obviously anti-women and a pathological liar, that the legitimacy of the entire government is being questioned. There is now a tidal wave of opposition to his nomination with at least 50% opposed, to the extent that the ruling class had to pretend to stop their vote for him and do an investigation of him. Normally, most people do not pay any attention to nominees to the Supreme Court. This time, with the deterioration of the economy caused by "make America great" Trump and his reactionary cronies, who in the same week as Dr. Ford's testimony, gave the rich more money with tax cuts, threatening Social Security and Medicare with cuts to pay for it, there is a fight back. It is not clear what will happen next but what is clear is that when people protest in massive numbers, the ruling class does get the message. What we need, of course, is a general strike because all they care about is their profits.

This is an exact copy of a letter that I sent to Sen. Coons of Delaware regarding primary witness Mark Judge hiding in Bethany Beach, DE while the trial was ongoing. How can an investigation be considered fair if the main witness doesn't testify? Can people put pressure on Sen. Coons to encourage Mark Judge to speak under oath since he is using Delaware as his escape?

"Dear Senator Chris Coons,

Just recently I visited Delaware's lovely beaches, spending some time at beautiful Cape Henlopen State Park near Lewes, DE. Later I was shocked to hear on the news that just a few miles down beach from me a man named Mark Judge was hiding out in Bethany Beach while the Kavanaugh hearings were taking place. My question is why would this primary witness be prevented from testifying at the investigation? If this were any other case of sexual assault, a witness to the alleged event would not be given a free pass due to problems related to alcohol addiction! Why is Mark Judge being treated with kid gloves by allowing him to escape the witness stand in this most important investigation? How can this trial be considered fair and balanced if the main witness is prevented from speaking under oath about what he saw when he was alone in the room with the two?

Although I am glad to hear that you and Sen. Flake are working together on trying to keep this process fair, it is sad that Mark Judge has chosen your home state of Delaware as a refuge from proper justice being sought out. Please use this as an issue to raise questions as to why Mark Judge is not being brought to the stand to testify as a witness under oath. If he has problems with alcohol that is unfortunate, though not an excuse for failing to provide needed testimony. Rehabs exist for this type of addiction, if being a witness causes him to feel stress, he can always get help from professionals. There is no legitimate reason for Mark Judge to not be present as a witness, this investigation cannot appear credible if all relevant witnesses aren't physically present on the stand.

My return to Delaware for the winter season is certain, though i know that i will feel much better if the First State has not been utilized as a hiding place for a witness in flight named Mark Judge who used his alcohol addiction as an excuse to avoid testifying in a very important trial. Please speak out and try to get the others involved to recognize the significance of having the witness Mark Judge speak under oath, not sleeping under the covers in Bethany Beach, Delaware!
