San Francisco, California
City workers and members of the community will have a press conference and rally to demand the immediate removal of San Francisco City and County Director of Human Resources Micki Callahan and other top HR officials for covering up systemic racism, workplace bullying and refusal to hold CCSF managers and executives accountable for violation of discrimination law, financial corruption and illegal retaliation.
On Wednesday September 19, 2018 in an historic city wide audit of all departments, the SF Board of Supervisors held a hearing on racism and discrimination in the City and County of San Francisco and dozens of present and past employees of San Francisco testified about the long history of racist practices, retaliation, workplace bullying and discrimination.
Many of these workers publicly spoke out about the role of the Director of Human Resources that she was personally involved in backing up and defend the illegal actions of discrimination by managers and executives from many departments including Department of Public Health, San Francisco Medical Examiner, MTA, Police Department, Parks and Recreation and the Port of San Francisco.
The city has spent tens of millions of dollars in settlements and attorney fees from illegal activity and the City Attorney Dennis Herrera under the direction of Micki Callahan has allowed the managers and executives who were involved in this illegal activity and financial corruption to not only stay on the job but be promoted by the City and County of San Francisco.
At this press conference, speakers will give specific examples of the systemic violation of civil rights laws and procedures to protect public workers from workplace racism, retaliation and attacks on their human rights.
