Organizing for Power, a coalition of local diverse organizations, present the East Bay Candidate & Voter Education Forum for an educational evening to evaluate the 2018 General Election candidates on their prospective to create and implement legislation policies and resources to positively impact the Black community and other communities of color.
The forum is free and open to the community. Invited local candidates & representatives for Assembly District 15, City Council and School Board 2, 4 & 6, Oakland Mayor, Oakland Auditor, Peralta Community College Trustees, AC Transit and County Assessor and more! Plus ballot initiative review and voter education resource area.
The event is sponsored by Merritt College Office of Student Activities & Campus Life, Black Elected Officials of the Bay Area, Black Women Organized for Political Action and Niagara Democratic Club, in partnership with AKA Xi Gamma Omega, Bayard Rustin LGBT Coalition, BOSS, Community Giving Foundation, Delta Sigma Theta Berkeley Alumnae Chapter, Omega Phi Psi, 100 Black Men of the Bay Area, National Coalition of 100 Black Women, SPEEDCO and Teacher Diversity Project.
