There is a systemic racist purge going on in the City and County of San Francisco and one of the targets is SEIU 1021 steward and healthcare worker Cheryl Thornton. She worked at the Potrero Hill Health Center and exposed corruption and also the effort to privatize the clinic under Department of Health director Barbara Garcia.
She was improperly removed and framed up by DPH director Barbara Garcia and then Department of Human Resources Micki Callahan who used anonymous charges to slander her about her work. These tactics are now being fought not only by SEIU 1021 but the San Francisco Labor Council and ILWU Local 10 which rallied at the Human Resources on Friday July 13, 2018.
There will be a press conference before an arbitration hearing in front of Human Resources at 8:30 AM.
