Anakbayan Santa Cruz is leading an action to call attention to and demand justice for the heinous mistreatment and abuse of kasama Jerome Aba.
Jerome is a human rights worker who was illegally detained, interrogated, and tortured at the hands of the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection upon arriving at San Francisco International Airport on April 17. Jerome was set to speak on the human rights situation in the Philippines at various congressional visits for the 16th annual Ecumenical Advocacy Days in Washington, D.C.
Stand in solidarity with us on Thursday, May 3 from 12:00pm-1:00pm. We will be meeting at Hahn Student Services then marching together to Quarry. At the Quarry, we will speak to what happened to Jerome, why they silenced him, and the violent violations of human rights under the Duterte regime via the U.S. backed war in Marawi.
Whether or not you can make it, below is a link to where you can access the Youth Unity Statement. By signing this statement you can use your voice - the most powerful tool we own - to support justice for Jerome and putting an end the U.S. war machine!
