Thousands of community members will join a vibrant rally and march in celebration of this year’s International Workers' Day, packed with powerful speakers, cultural performances, and art to honor the struggles of workers and migrants. This year, march organizers are mobilizing around the theme of “No Ban, No Raids, No Wall: Sanctuary for All,” demonstrating communities’ commitment to defending immigrants, people of color, and working class people against the increased attacks they face from the Trump administration and local law enforcement. The march is being organized by Oakland Sin Fronteras (Oakland Without Borders), a coalition of immigrant workers, students, labor unions, faith-based groups, and community organizations. Community members will rally at Oscar Grant Plaza, 14th and Broadway, at 3pm, and march down to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office to protest its targeting of immigrants, its collaboration with ICE, and the inhumane treatment of people in jails. From there, the march will end at Lake Merritt Amphitheater, where community organizations will be holding a resource fair.

Prior to rally and march at 3pm, Oakland port workers with the International Longshoremen Workers’ Union – Local 10 will be shutting down the port and holding a rally at 10am at the Matson Terminal (1347 Middle Harbor Road, Oakland). Workers and supporters will then march to Little Bobby Hutton Park (1200 16th St, Oakland) at 11am.

Community members and organizations will be holding rallies in San Francisco, Hayward, and Oakland, and all plan to join the march in downtown Oakland at 3pm.
