Out of Syria's prewar population of 22 million, an estimated 5 million are now refugees outside of Syria and some 6 million are internally displaced within Syria. This presentation will examine the human dimensions and root causes of this overwhelming humanitarian crisis.
Jana Kadah, a Syrian American student at SJSU, who interviewed refugees in camps in Lebanon, Greece, and Italy this summer, will report on what she saw and learned.
Sharat G. Lin, PhD, who met Syrian refugees in Turkey and Iraq, will moderate discussion.
Open to the public | donations welcome
