What will it take to make revolution
in the 21st century successful?

A four-week study group will explore the short book Lessons of October by Leon Trotsky, based on his experience as a leader of the Russian Revolution. Trotsky asserts that creating fundamental changes requires a working-class party — and one that is not doctrinaire but is able to gauge and respond to swiftly changing conditions. His work is a valuable resource for activists who want to understand the dynamics of today’s “pop-up movements” and upsurges like the Arab Spring.

The group will be offered at two different sessions:

Wednesdays, 3-4:30pm, on October 4, 18, and November 1, 15 or
Mondays, 7-8:30pm, on October 9, 23, and November 6, 20.

For the second meeting (October 18), please read the third and fourth chapters: “The struggle against war and defensism” and “The April conference" and review the study questions for these chapters.
