Come along on a FREE walking tour (18 years and running) surveying the deep roots and aspirations of social movement history, featuring many of the movements--Black Liberation, the Mormons, LGBTQ, War on Poverty, and others-- involving San Francisco, with particular reference to SF's primary spiritual and intellectual contribution to liberation movements, namely geo-think.
Attending this walk will accelerate your accession to bonafide knee-o-fight, about which more below.
From now until we get it done, R.U.N. or out of San Francisco encourages all folk to take a knee for the length of any rendition of the U.S. national anthem they fancy at Noon each and every day.
"Getting it done" includes but is not limited to bringing about public policy that obliterates the need of anybody to have to pay anybody else to use this earth. The value of land belongs to the whole community; the rent of land should be a pass-through back to society to pay for schools, museums, roadways, and all other public goods. The rent of land should most certainly not be a payment to a private party for "the right to use this earth."
No black person should have to pay a white guy to use this earth. For that matter, no black woman should have to pay a black man or woman to use this earth. Take it from any identity demographic you care to, let's just say that no human being should be paying a private party to use this earth. The earth is the birthright of all people.
Now, at Noon, while the dawn's early light is being sung in your head, let's take a knee to the banner representing "the inalienable right to life."
Be a knee-o-fighter: it's never too late to be on the correct side of social history.
