Street Theater Depicts GOP’s Latest Effort to Repeal Obamacare
Resurrected victims of healthcare cuts rose from mock graves in Mountain View on Tuesday.
Resurrected victims of healthcare cuts rose from mock graves in Mountain View on Tuesday. Within hours of the announcement that there would be no Senate vote on a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act, street theater activists lay down in front of a major Kaiser Permanente Clinic. Graveside minister Ida Rose Sylvester started reading obituaries, then in mock surprise announced that the dead would rise.
Pedestrians on the busy street asked the Raging Grannies what was going on, as the mourning older women shouted hurrah at the news. The mock graveside erupted in cheers.
Members of Together We Will (Mountain View/Palo Alto Chapter) said that the fight must continue, as the Republicans would most certainly try again to get rid of the Affordable Care Act after the Senate killed the bill for lack of votes.
