The school year (k-12) fast approaches, and here's a great way to set yourself up for a splendid year of keen student writing. Teachers with Whiteboards comes to the South Bay with a compact edition of its signature teacher workshop: Writing Using the Prompt of Woody Guthrie's 'This Land is Your Land.' Suitable for (and tested in) 4th-12th grade classrooms.
In this punctually one hour (and not a second longer) free workshop, teachers will receive a sufficient introduction to our work to be able to guide students through a systematic short set of questions that will liberate students to write about the power dynamics of every social studies topic and most pieces of literature.
If you have a whiteboard, dry erase pens, and the ability to draw recognizable triangles and circles . . . and an abiding interest in students discovering an approach to social justice writing, you can launch this program in your classroom the first day of class.
Please call to confirm your attendance so we know to wait for you before moving from the school entrance to our outdoor work space.
NOTE: the workshop will begin and end promptly
