PayPal claims: “We are available in more than 200 countries and support 25 currencies… We’re here for you, wherever you are.”
But PayPal refuses to serve Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, while serving Israelis living in Jewish-only illegal settlements, sometimes across the street from Palestinians with no access.
PayPal is violating international law by operating in illegal settlements. Denying access to Palestinians in the same areas is blatant discrimination.
Palestinians under occupation face barriers to doing everyday things:
Going to school
Getting to work
Traveling to see friends and family
PayPal has an opportunity to make their lives at least a bit easier. The Palestinian tech sector is one of the few industries that can grow under Israel’s occupation, but it needs PayPal to be competitive.
The Palestinian business community has been engaging in dialogue with PayPal since 2015.
More than 120,000 people from around the world signed a petition calling on PayPal to extend services to Palestine. Help us deliver this message to PayPal!
